All of my customization requests have been met with professional and quick responses. (No padding on palm, double padding on outer layer, no holes in palm and wrist.) I am very happy with how they turned out, though I think they would be perfect with 1 additional layer of padding. Great quality. Great price. Great service. Do yourself a favor and buy these, a perfect addition for the historical reenactor that wants to do some combat.
The maille is nicely constructed and the whole mitten well fitting and padded. I have had to place a reinforcing leather strip across the middle linen strip from side to side to strengthen it, as there are two slits across the horizontal as opposed to a single one vertical one from wrist to the fingers. Other than this potential weakness, these will be very useful and should last a while.
