The quality is top notch and they feel very sturdy and comfortable. This version is with a hard bottom with nails which gives them a more rugged look. May not be suitable for smooth surfaces to walk on but there is a version of these with a rubber bottom.
Very happy with them
Over all I am very pleased with my new Caligae. They were solidly built, comfortable ( the Romans got something right to say the least) and the leather was supple. I’m very excited to get these broken in!
I love my set. These are superior to my more expensive and brittle Deepeeka pair. After a Neatsfoot oil bath they've performed extremely well over the past 18 months of heavy use. Laces don't snap, everything is comfy and great. I got mine without the hobnails and had a very low profile rubber layer on for traction.
