The Conical Nasal Helmet was a popular medieval European combat helmet, popularized in Western Europe by the Norman raids, It was used from Late Antiquity to the Early Middle Ages, Conical Nasal helmet Spangenhelm, battle-ready. The nasal helmet would usually have been worn over a mail coif, which protected the lower parts of the head, throat and neck.
