Solid, historical, and heavy-duty!
I bought this for my local SCA combat group, and it absolutely delivers. The 14-gauge steel is incredibly thick and took a few heavy hits during weekend sparring without a single dent.
The klappvisor hinge works smoothly, though I had to add a bit of oil to loosen it up at first. Visually, the 14th-century historical lines are spot on. It is quite heavy, so make sure you have a good padded arming cap underneath to help distribute the weight.
Overall, it is an amazing piece of armor for the price.
