The Norman nasal helmet was used from the late 9th century to at least 1250 and possibly much later. The reason for their decline was the rise in popularity of helmets that offered more facial protection. Often these helmets were lined with an adjustable liner made of either fabric or leather.
Associated mainly with the Normans, it was however popular with many European knights, especially during the early crusades.

It was too tiny for me. But lookef good
The helmet is perfect for the period of the Norman conquest and even the time of the early crusades. The helmet is both perfectly thick and lightweight, making it a nice helmet to wear for reenactments. However I don't like the look on the side a little, for the helmet looks a little odd to me. Still the helmet works for the said time period.
For the price a very good solid helm. Very minor surface cracking of finish where nasal guard joins helm, but otherwis solid construction. Good wide leather strap, good buckle. Packing very good, well protected. Yes, I would buy another, especially if they did a spectacle helm in 14G.
Excellent quality helm. This helmet is more oval shaped than round, and it fits my head with a medium padded arming cap and a mail coif. The nasal is of good width and length. A very good quality helmet. Very soild. The fit and finish is excellent. I would not hesitate to buy another.
