The Norman nasal helmet was used from the late 9th century to at least 1250 and possibly much later. The reason for their decline was the rise in popularity of helmets that offered more facial protection. Often these helmets were lined with an adjustable liner made of either fabric or leather.
Associated mainly with the Normans, it was however popular with many European knights, especially during the early crusades.One of the Late 12th century helmet worn by knights of the Christian orders, a popular choice of Medieval Crusades between 12th & 15th Century. This replica is made from heavy 14 Gauge steel with buff finish.
